Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

I am delighted to welcome you to our school community. As the principal, I am honoured to lead a team of dedicated educators who are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and challenging learning environment for all students. Shailer Park is a highly respected Independent Public School, that is well respected in our local community for supporting and challenging all our students.

At our school, we believe in the power of inclusivity. We embrace diversity and recognize the value of every individual. We are committed to creating an inclusive community where every student feels valued, respected, and supported. Our goal is to foster an environment where students can learn and grow together, regardless of their differences.

We also believe in the importance of community partnerships. We work closely with local organisations, businesses, and community leaders to provide our students with opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Through these partnerships, our students have access to a wide range of resources, experiences, and mentors that help them develop into well-rounded individuals.

Academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do at our school. We challenge our students to think critically, communicate effectively, and solve complex problems. Our expert teachers ensure that evidence based, best practice is at the core to providing a rigorous and engaging curriculum that prepares our students for success in High School, University and beyond.

Students in our school wear their uniform with pride and it is strongly recognised in our local community as a school that sets high standards of behaviour and positive family partnerships. Our students aspire to conduct themselves in a 'safe', 'responsible' and respectful way while at school and in our community. Our students strive to have 'Gold' behaviour and celebrate success with the 'house' spirit – Callistemon, Banksia and Acacia, with end of semester 'Reward Days'.

In addition to academic rigor, we also prioritize the wellbeing of our students. Our Wellbeing Hub is a place where students can access resources and support for their mental, emotional, and physical health. We recognise that learning is not just about academics; it's about developing the whole person.

We offer a variety of extracurricular activities to enhance the learning experience of our students. Our dance, strings, band, and choir programs provide opportunities for students to explore their creativity and develop their talents. Our sports teams offer opportunities for students to develop their physical abilities, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Our school is proud to be the preferred school in the community. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that prepares our students for success in life. We work closely with our dedicated P&C and School Council, who support and guide school direction for our whole community. We look forward to working with you to ensure that your child receives the best possible education.

Thank you for choosing our school as your partner in education. I look forward to a successful school year filled with growth, learning, and achievement.

Sincerely,

Káren Kuskey

Principal
