Prep Enrolments and Transition Opportunities.
The Preparatory (Prep) year is the first year of school for your child. It is a full-time program that runs five days per week. Your child is expected to attend full-time in order to get the most from the Prep year.
Age is the only criterion for enrolment in the Prep year for Queensland children. Your child must be five by 30 June in the year they enrol in Prep. To find out when your child is eligible to enrol in the Prep year please see the table below.

Parents and carers are most welcome to bring their future Prep aged children to view and engage in our busy Prep Classrooms at work. Take this opportunity to see what our Prep Classrooms look like, sound like and feel like on a daily basis.
Prep Open Day
Saturday 25th May 2019 9:00 - 11:00am - CANCELLED
We understand that parents are busy and work commitments make the week days quite chaotic at times. Our Open Day is on a Saturday morning, which allows for the whole family to come along, join the fun and meet our P-6 staff. Our staff have organised a large range of learning activities for our ‘Preppies’ to take part in. Guided tours of our campus will be provided on this day in addition to the PCYC which operate our outside school hours care.
Prep 2021 interview Bookings for a phone interview will commence 31st August 2020. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.
Due to our current COVID restrictions, Prep interviews are going to look very different this year. We have decided to conduct a phone interview with parents and carers in order to collect some initial information about your child. We are hoping to invite you and your child to school next term for some transition activities.
2021 Prep enrolment interviews will be held in the week of Monday 31st August to Friday 4 September. Phone interview times begin from 7.30am and the last interview each day will be at 3.50pm. Interviews will only take approximately 10-15 minutes. You can call our office on 3440 8333 to book a time that suits you. If you require an enrolment pack, you are welcome to come through our front office to collect one.
Our Early Years Coordinator, Janelle Delahunty and our Prep - Yr 3 Deputy Principal, Kym Knox, will be holding interviews via phone. Please provide your best contact number when you book your interview time.
We will also send you a few questions that you can do with your child to return via email. This is in place of some of the activities we would have done in the interview. All you would need for this is a picture book of any kind. Details will follow soon.
As soon as we can invite you into the school for any transition opportunities we will let you know.

These orientation days provide our 2021 students with an opportunity to meet our teachers and spend the morning in our Prep classrooms. This gives them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the buildings and classrooms in addition to getting to meet some new friends and take part in hands-on learning activities.
While the ‘Preppies’ are having fun in the Prep classrooms, the parents and carers are invited to stay and meet other parents and become familiar with classroom activities. Classroom activities include:
Home readers, Sight Words program and Homework Policy.
iPads in the classroom.
What reading groups and maths groups look like.

Wednesday 28th November 1:30 - 2:30pm: The ‘Preppies’ continue with a further opportunity to have fun in the Prep classrooms, the parents are invited to stay and meet other parents.
Meet the Teacher
Tuesday 10th December 1:30 - 2:30pm: The ‘Preppies’ will meet their Prep Teacher for 2019 and continue to have fun with their peers in their new classroom, the parents are invited to stay and meet other parents and become familiar with the classroom.
